We had our first snow this past Saturday, and the snow on the tree gave me the idea for this snow flowers. I thought
Danielle Young‘s newest holiday digital kit,
Oh, Joy! (Collaboration with Cinzia) would make the beautiful flowers and pot with
Kelleigh Ratzlaff‘s
Cupcake Box Template.
I saw this gorgeous
felt rose bud bouquet last week, and I immediately thought about having another baby girl
(urmmm… like I could easily pick the gender, hehe). I would have loved
to make the bouquet for her first birthday party. This felt bouquet put
my pom-pom topiary tree that I made for Bailey’s 1st b-day party to shame. But, nah… I can’t even handle two kids that I already have. Hehe.
Printed Oh, Joy! digital papers on
Epson Double-Sided Matte Inkjet Paper. Punched it out with Stampin’ Up! Scallop Circle punch.
Spiral cut.
Condition the flowers with a round pen or stylus pen so it can roll/bend
easily. This way you won’t get the creases in the paper. The pen I’m
using on the photo came with
American Crafts rub ons.
Curl the edge using the pen. Roll from the outside of the circle to form the flower.
Form the bud, and glue the bottom. I used hot glue gun.
Glue the center. I used the tweezer to hold the center while the glue dried.
I put 3″ styrofoam inside the cupcake and attached the flowers with the
hot glue gun. White flowers in the center are from a crafting store
(dry/silk flower section).
I used the wrapper from
Cupcake Box template to put the windows with ornaments. Window frames, ornaments, and the green brads (Added
Glossy Accents on top) are from the
Oh, Joy! kit.
I cut out the circles with a knife, and the edge was not smooth even after I filed it. So I put
Glossy Accents and sprinkled some
Snow Glitter over. I applied it twice.
Added some sparkling glitter.
This Christmas flowers in the cupcake pot will look beautiful in my living room. =)
